Mindful Holistic Space Treatment Menu

The mind and body are so intrinsically connected, with this in mind it is important that we look after ourselves as a whole not just one individual symptom. Holistic therapies have played an important role in my wellness journey which in turn led me to become a practitioner in certain therapies. My aim is to help others support and improve their health and wellbeing just as I have so they can feel empowered and proactive in looking after their mind, body and souls.

Complimentary treatments look at physical health (body aches and pains, disease, fatigue) emotional health (feelings such as upset, sadness worry, fear) mental health (depression anxiety self-limiting beliefs) and spiritual health (feeling lost or empty, disconnected or incomplete).

Holistic interventions allow the body to restore its natural balance creating a complete integration of body, mind, and spirit.

Reiki is a Japanese healing art that was developed by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 20th century. You might also hear it called Reiki energy, Usui system of Reiki and therapeutic touch. Reiki is a form of alternative medicine called energy healing, this technique is helpful to encourage emotional or physical healing. It also helps to reduce stress and promote relaxation within the energy systems of the body. The Reiki practitioner will have been taught according to the Japanese tradition of the “sensei” (teacher), who passes the knowledge to the student through attunement, an initiation ceremony that is thought to open the student’s energy channels to facilitate the flow of healing energy.

Reiki is offered through a light, non-invasive touch with the practitioner’s hands being placed and held on a series of locations on the head, as well as the front and back of the torso. There is very little to no talking during sessions, which typically last around 45-60 minutes. Additional placements on the limbs can be offered as needed. For example, if there is an injury to a specific area. A complete Reiki session is offered fully clothed, in a quiet environment and is safe for adults, children, mothers–to–be and babies.

Reiki is linked to a range of physical and emotional health benefits, including better sleep, improved mood and pain relief. Research suggests Reiki helps your body return to a state of relaxation, which allows it to heal from damage brought on by stress, injury, or disease. There is evidence that Reiki, used as a complementary therapy with other standard medical techniques, can help people recovering from Cancer and long-term illnesses.

When giving Reiki, practitioners have been shown to emit electro-magnetic or bio-magnetic energy from their hands. The frequencies of the energy emitted vary from one moment to the next; but many appear to correspond to those that medical researchers have identified as being the optimum frequencies for stimulating the healing process in tissues, bones and other body parts so far investigated. Cost: £35.00

The history of foot massage goes back thousands of years to India China and Japan it was used to restore the energy and well-being within a person. The stresses we have in this modern world may be different but the solutions remain the same, taking time out receiving therapeutic touch and feeling cared for all help our bodies and minds stay in an optimal state of health. Your feet are your foundation and if your feet hurt this can impact other areas of the body. A reflexology/tsuboki foot massage is a holistic treatment and it is one of the most enjoyable experiences that you can have. In the principles of reflexology and tsuboki the whole of the body and energy meridians are mapped out on the feet and so by using specific massage techniques we are reaching and affecting the whole body and beyond encouraging natural healing.

Feet are something we use almost all the time, but tend to neglect when it comes to care. They get sore, tired, cramp, swollen, and achy. But through a reflex/tsuboki foot massage you can show care, as it increases circulation, helps blood and lymph systems carry away toxins, and helps relax the body. A reflexology/tsuboki treatment may help you feel less stressed, more relaxed, and more energized. But the benefits might go deeper if you have certain health issues. A proper foot massage is one of the strongest stress relieving treatments.

What is Indian head massage?

An Indian head massage is a beautifully traditional practice, that is now increasingly popular amongst Western cultures. It is a deep massage, using a variety of pressure and techniques, including circular massage strokes focusing on massaging acupressure points along the head, neck, and shoulders working deeply into the tissue on your shoulders, and gently stretching the neck. Indian head massage has become a popular alternative treatment to help relieve stress and reduce tension. It may also ease migraine or headache pain, lower blood pressure, improve circulation to your head and neck, improve physical well-being and mental and emotional wellness. It also renews and balances energy levels by working with the three higher chakras

The message originates from an Indian alternative medicine system called Ayurveda, (translated as the ‘science of life’), whereby it is believed that the mind and body are intricately connected and thus can influence one another.

Hopi ear candles are used in ‘thermal auricular therapy’ which helps to promotes general good health and well-being whilst also facilitating in the removal of ear wax. It is regarded as a form of alternative medicine and has been used for thousands of years.

The candles work on a chimney principle, drawing any impurities to the surface where they can be gently removed. They equalise the pressure in the head and ears. Secretion flow is gently stimulated and the vapor collects and removes impurities or deposits.

Benefits of ear candling include:

  • Removing wax, bacteria and other debris from the ear canal
  • Treating sinus infections
  • Improving hearing
  • Relieving sore throats
  • Treating colds and flu
  • Relieving headaches and migraines
  • Improving mental clarity

What should I expect?

One end of the candle is gently inserted into the ear canal and the other end is lit. The warmth of the candle creates a gentle vacuum, which in turn softens the wax and impurities pulling wax and other toxins out of the ear and into the candle. After the candle has burnt down it will be cut open to examine the contents and determine the number of candles to be used. The treatment will conclude with a relaxing face massage.
This session will take approximately 45minutes. Cost: £35.00
